The Claverack Republican Club will hold its annual Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, March 26 at the Claverack Town Park, off Church Street, Mellenville. The grounds will open at 10 am with the hunts getting underway at 11 am, rain, snow or sun. Admission is free. The egg hunt is open to all Claverack youths ages 1 to 9 and features first, second and third place prizes in the three age categories: ages 1-3, 4-6 and 7-9, as well as additional prizes in eggs around the fields. In addition to the egg hunts, the morning will feature free refreshments for the parents and children and a visit by the Easter Bunny. The Claverack Republican Club will sponsor its annual chicken barbecue Sunday, September 20, beginning at noon at the Claverack Town Park, off Church Street, Mellenville. The day begins at noon with hot dogs and hamburgers, followed by the barbecue at approximately 1 pm. The BBQ includes a barbecued half chicken, potato and macaroni salads, baked beans, a roll and dessert. Drinks and some additional sides will be available for purchase at the concession stand. Tickets for the barbecue are $12 each and are available from club members. A very limited number of tickets will be available at the door. |
