
Bill Gerlach, a well-known area businessman and banker, was appointed to the town board in 2014 to fill the vacancy created when Clifford “Kippy” Weigelt was elected Town Supervisor. In November of 2014, Gerlach ran successfully for election and has served the people of Claverack since.
Bill is a graduate of Hudson High School and Marist College, and has spent decades in the Columbia County business and banking community – currently serving as Vice President of Commercial Lending with the Kinderhook Bank. He has served on the Board’s of many local organizations, including the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce and the United Way of Columbia and Greene Counties. He also volunteers for the Salvation Army in Hudson.
Bill resides in Claverack with his wife Mary, and has two step-children, Patrick and Colin.
